Pawlie & Libby
Pawlie & Libby
Pawlie first strummed a guitar at age 13 while living on the east coast. Playing and singing in high-school rock bands, he quickly discovered a passion for all aspects of music composition, performance, recording, and production — eventually leading him to UCSB’s engineering school. Since the early 1990s, Pawlie has been writing, recording, and performing his original brand of acoustic and electric songs, drawing upon deep influences in the pop, jazz, folk, and even progressive genres. Pawlie has released three albums to date — Pawlie (1994), The Small Time (1998), and Little Green Man (2011) — and is currently working on his fourth.

Libby also grew up on the east coast, playing piano and singing in various school groups — eventually settling in Santa Barbara during the eighties. Libby sings backup vocals with Pawlie both live and in the studio, and is an avid student and aficionado of many types of vocalizations — human and avian!

Pawlie and Libby live in Santa Barbara with their two pampered felines, Penny and Jasper.
The Free Radicals
The Free Radicals
The Free Radicals — Mark Roberts and Deb Carnal — are a Santa Barbara-based duo that combines Mark’s distinctive writing, playing, and singing with Deb’s individual vocal style.
Originally from Indianapolis, Mark has been writing and playing songs since he landed in Santa Barbara some 35 years ago. A former member of The Riffzone, Mark also performs his original roots/rock music with The Mark Roberts Band. Since 2000, Mark has written, recorded, and self-produced six albums — What’s Up? (2001), Last Person in Paradise (2003), Giving the World Away (2006), Rock My Soul (2010), Zero to Sixty (2012), and Songs from the Goodland (2016).

Deb’s musical influences come from both the east and west coasts. Living in New York, Deb played in various blues bands — most notably fronting The Rhythm Rats, interpreting blues standards from as far back as the 1920s. This led to blues festivals and events throughout New York, opening for acts such as Savoy Brown and the Nighthawks. Returning to Santa Barbara, she joined with Mark in creating The Free Radicals. Deb also supplies backup vocals in The Mark Roberts Band.
