The twenty plus members, under the direction of Dr. Jon Nathan will entertain Jazz Society members and guests with a repertoire from this academic year including numbers from March’s Count Basie concert as well as more contemporary jazz.

Also featured are two combos and vocalist Isabel Perry, who joins the large ensemble to perform “I’m Beginning to See the Light” and “Ain’t Misbehaving” (arrangements that were written originally to feature Ella Fitzgerald and the Basie Orchestra) and the combo to perform “East of the Sun” and Jobim’s “If You Never Come to Me.”

Band members are comprised entirely of full time students, from all backgrounds and disciplines learning to perform music at a high level as well as interacting with the some of the world’s greatest musicians including Ed Neumeister, Robin Eubanks, Pete Christlieb, Bobby Shew and others.
