Nate Latta, an established local Santa Barbara singer, songwriter and musician, is a regular at local bars, pubs, festivals, parties and events. Born in the greater Los Angeles area, Nate moved to the Pacific Northwest as a young child. Growing up in a small coastal Oregon logging town, Nate’s earliest memories were dominated by country, bluegrass and folk music. His dad, a local preacher and avid guitar player encouraged Nate to find his passion in music, which started at a young age on the violin. As a teenager, Nate picked up the guitar and was soon adding current rock and punk songs to his country repertoire.

At 15, Nate and his family moved to Chicago where Nate developed a love of acoustic and electric blues music. Returning to California at 18, Nate started his first band, Ragged Glory, with his musical mentor -his uncle. Playing solo or in bands ever since, Nate regularly performs in the greater Los Angeles area and throughout California.

Having been raised on old time country and retro rock music, Nate credits some of his primary musical influences as Hank Williams, Steve Earle, Ryan Adams, George Jones, Wayne Hancock, Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, and the Rolling Stones. But his love of strong beats and punk music show further influences from bands such as the Clash, the Ramones, Hank III, Mike Ness and Social Distortion.

His first album, Broken Glass, was released in February 2011. Produced by David West at Studio Z in Santa Barbara, California, and featuring well-known local artists such as Tom Ball, David West, and Barney Tower, Broken Glass reflects Nate's life experiences and outlook. Combining songs on love, fatherhood, family, and heartache, his music echoes themes of sorrow, growing up, redemption, and Americana.
